PC System Requirements

FreeStyle Football 2 is an upcoming Unreal Engine 5 5v5 arcade football game. PC Agents need a 64-bit Windows box, DirectX 12, broadband, and about 60 GB free before they join Steam or Xbox PC tests. This page quotes the official JOYCITY table, then explains anti-cheat, region assign, Steam Deck notes, and the Index: 400 login message. It does not claim the retail PC SKU is on sale.

If you are choosing a store instead of a GPU, switch to editions. If you only needed a hub link, the parent is Tools Hub. Console players on PS5 or Xbox Series can skip the table and still read the network section, because party region and maintenance errors are shared.

Official minimum requirements

JOYCITY lists these as the floor for a 64-bit PC:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-9400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500X
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 6400
  • API: DirectX 12
  • Storage: 60 GB available
  • Network: broadband internet

Sixteen gigabytes of RAM is not a luxury row. It sits on minimum and recommended. Integrated graphics that only match a 1650 on paper in synthetic tests often lose to a desktop 1650 once Easy Anti-Cheat, Unreal, and a 5v5 netcode stack share the machine. If you are under 16 GB, do not expect a settings slider to invent memory.

DirectX 12 is required. A Windows 10 install that still thinks in DirectX 11 terms will not be a workaround. Keep 60 GB free for the install plus patch overhead; demo and playtest depots have already shown multi-gigabyte clients, and OBT pre-download on 2 September 2026 is not the moment to discover a 40 GB disk.

The recommended row is a generational step, not a 4K boast:

  • OS: Windows 11 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-12400 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700
  • API: DirectX 12
  • Storage: 60 GB available
  • Network: broadband internet

Recommended still asks for 16 GB RAM. The upgrade is CPU generation, Windows 11, and a GPU with more headroom for Unreal lighting on city pitches. An RTX 2070 or RX 5700 is a 2018–2019 high-range card; newer midrange chips usually clear it. If you are buying hardware only for this game, meet recommended and spend the rest of the budget on a wired connection.

Laptop GPUs with similar names (1650 Max-Q, 2070 Mobile) are not the desktop parts on the sheet. Treat them as a maybe, then watch frame time in a custom 5v5 rather than a menu benchmark. City maps in the maps guide — including the compact New York field from the June demo — stress different draws than a practice cage.

Anti-cheat, Deck, input, and storage

Steam lists Easy Anti-Cheat. That means kernel-level anti-cheat on Windows, extra first-boot time, and a poor fit for unsigned OS tweaks. If EAC fails to initialize, you will not reach a match even on a recommended GPU. Xbox PC uses the Microsoft store stack instead of Steam’s EAC install path, but it is still an online anti-cheat title.

Demo notes mentioned Steam Deck support, and playtest metadata has advertised touch-screen flags. That is not a Valve Verified stamp. Handheld play still has to live with Easy Anti-Cheat, 16 GB RAM on the spec sheet, and online-only 5v5. If Deck is your only PC, test during Prime OBT instead of assuming a silent success.

Input is flexible. Official FAQ: keyboard and mouse are fully supported; controllers are fully supported. Read controls and how to play after the spec check. A qualifying PC with the wrong camera sensitivity still loses 5v5s.

SSD versus HDD is not on the official table. Unreal Engine 5 titles hitch less on NVMe. If you have a 60 GB slice on a dying platter drive, move the install before you blame netcode. Keep the pagefile on Windows if you sit at exactly 16 GB; closing Chrome is a cheaper upgrade than a new GPU for some Agents.

Network, regions, and Index: 400

Broadband is required because there is no offline 5v5. Story Mode is a 10–20 hour launch-target campaign on story mode, but public tests are online. Servers auto-select region on login. You can invite other regions; matchmaking uses the party leader’s region. If your friend in Europe hosts, you play on their side of the water.

Index: 400 means the servers are not live or are in maintenance. It is the expected message outside a test window, during a rolling patch, or before PDT 04:00 on 4 September 2026. It is not a missing VC++ pack. Confirm on Discord and the support FAQ, then wait. The links hub keeps those URLs in one list.

Pre-download for Prime OBT opened 2 September 2026. Downloading early does not bypass the play window. Delete leftover demo or playtest folders if JOYCITY asks for a clean client — mixed depots are a common white-screen cause.

Once the machine qualifies, stop tuning hardware and go learn the game. Getting started covers the first hour. Players and the tier list cover who to pick. Ranked and clubs covers the long loop. Editions covers Game Pass Day One and the four named SKUs. Tools Hub is the parent if you need both specs and stores in one jump.

Meet the recommended row if you can, keep 60 GB free, and treat Index: 400 as a server-state sentence rather than a broken install. That is the whole PC brief for an upcoming premium 5v5 — enough to join OBT, not a promise that the retail build is already on your drive.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Agents heading into Prime OBT and launch.

What is the official minimum GPU?

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 6400, with DirectX 12, 16 GB RAM, and Windows 10 64-bit.

What is the official recommended GPU?

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 or AMD Radeon RX 5700, with Windows 11 64-bit, a 12th-gen Intel or Ryzen 5 5600 CPU, and the same 16 GB RAM / 60 GB storage.

Does the PC version use Easy Anti-Cheat?

Yes. Steam lists Easy Anti-Cheat. Keep Windows 64-bit and a clean install path, especially before Prime OBT.

Is Steam Deck supported?

Demo notes mentioned Steam Deck support, but that is not a full compatibility rating. Expect Easy Anti-Cheat and online-only play.

Can I pick my server region?

No. The client auto-selects. Parties use the leader's region, which can add latency for guests.

I see Index: 400 and cannot log in. Why?

Servers are not live or are in maintenance. Check official channels; do not assume a GPU failure. See the [support FAQ](https://joycity.oqupie.com/portals/3205/articles/85969).
