FreeStyle Football 2 Prime Open Beta Test

Prime Open Beta Test is the last scheduled public stress test for FreeStyle Football 2 before the premium launch, not the launch itself. WOORE and JOYCITY are using 4–8 September 2026 to validate full cross-play between PC and consoles, then gather the feedback that closed betas and the June demo could not cover at this scale. The paid game is still upcoming. Do not treat an OBT store tile, a pre-download, or a PAX West booth as a retail SKU.

Schedule by timezone

JOYCITY published three aligned windows. They look like different end dates because of time zones; they describe the same global test.

• PDT: 4 September 2026, 04:00 through 7 September 2026, 18:00
• CEST: 4 September 2026, 13:00 through 8 September 2026, 03:00
• UTC: 4 September 2026, 11:00 through 8 September 2026, 01:00

If you only keep one line, keep UTC. Convert once, write it on paper, and ignore social posts that drop a single local hour without a zone. Pre-download opened 2 September 2026 so the client could finish before those start times. Actual matches are gated to the OBT start; finishing a download on 2 or 3 September does not let you queue early.

If you already have an older playtest or demo client, JOYCITY recommended deleting and re-downloading for a cleaner connection rather than trusting a leftover build. Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation each have their own store objects for the test. The Steam page is the PC wishlist hub; console Agents should still pre-register on the official site.

Butter's Update Delivery: Prime OBT

Platforms, parties, and login errors

Prime OBT platforms are Steam, Xbox PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox. That is the same four-store set the June demo used for full cross-play. Servers auto-select the best region when you log in. You can still invite Agents from other regions, but matchmaking follows the party leader’s region, so a mixed NA/EU stack may feel the leader’s ping rather than yours.

Index: 400 on login means the servers are not live or are in maintenance. Check Discord and the support FAQ before you repair files. The same FAQ is mirrored from the links hub. PC Agents should confirm system requirements before blaming the queue: Windows 10 64-bit minimum, 16 GB RAM, DirectX 12, Easy Anti-Cheat, and about 60 GB free.

Bring the controls sheet if you swap between keyboard and pad. Steam Deck support showed up in demo notes, but OBT is still an Easy Anti-Cheat online client. Test on a docked PC or a console if you need a clean first session.

Lena, Hamburg, and what Butter’s update actually added

Official Prime OBT coverage — the English trailer and Butter’s update delivery — puts Lena Wolf and a Hamburg city pitch in this window. Lena is the German racer / high-speed interceptor; the full note is on the Lena page. Hamburg belongs on Maps and Pitches. Do not treat a trailer intercept as a finished stat sheet, and do not assume Hamburg plays like compact New York. If you came to defend, read How to Defend before you first-pick her as a striker.

PAX West booth and KARDI soundtrack

JOYCITY is taking a playable FreeStyle Football 2 booth to PAX West 2026 during the same calendar window as Prime OBT. The booth is an in-person demo, not a separate beta key program. Hours, what to try on the floor, and what the booth is not are on the PAX West page. If you are in Seattle that weekend, you can try the 5v5 ruleset on show hardware while the online test is running for everyone else. Producer comments framed OBT as the final cross-play check and PAX as the North American awareness beat.

The KARDI collaboration is scheduled to debut in this test. The four-piece band (with geomungo) wrote, composed, and performed theme and instrumental tracks for major in-game screens. Wolf Park is one of the named pieces Agents should listen for; other KARDI cues sit on menus and match flow rather than only in a trailer. The June demo did not carry this soundtrack drop. Track titles, what the mix is not, and the BFF embed live on the KARDI soundtrack page. If music is part of why you queue, Prime OBT is the first fair in-game listen.

What you are actually testing

The core loop is still 5v5 online with AI keepers and one Agent per character. Launch targets remain 12 characters, Story Mode of 10–20 hours, clubs plus a companion app, Season Passes, and DLC around a premium (not free-to-play) SKU. OBT will not answer every edition question; editions collects the named Basic, Premium, Deluxe, and Limited Club Edition plans plus Xbox Game Pass Day One notes without inventing dollar prices.

Use the test to pick a role, not to complete a campaign. Forwards, midfielders, and defenders are the role splits; the players hub and tier list should change after you have hours in this build, not before. New York and other city pitches are documented in maps. Ranked boards and club talk belong on ranked and clubs. Story hours belong on story mode after the test, not during it.

Wishlist and older test cosmetics still wait for official launch mail. Demo players are owed Kickoff Football Gloves and Known Kickoff. January CBT players are owed Kickoff Cleats and Secret Kickoff. Combined Steam/PlayStation/Xbox wishlist hits through 30k and 50k were already announced in 2026; Riyal, the Brave Costume Set, and Premium Pass Tickets also mail later. Playing OBT does not skip that mailbox.

Pre-register, pre-download, then play inside the published hours. Keep the June demo recap for what New York and the lounge already taught you, and keep the Updates Hub for the rest of the 2026 calendar. When the UTC window closes on 8 September 01:00, the next useful pages are hardware, editions, and the roster — not a pretend patch-note feed for a game that has not launched.
