FreeStyle Football 2 at PAX West 2026
A playable booth in Seattle during the same window as Prime OBT — in-person 5v5, not a second beta key.
PAX West 2026 is JOYCITY and WOORE’s in-person beat for FreeStyle Football 2. The show runs 4–7 September 2026 in Seattle, overlapping the Prime Open Beta Test online window. A Games Press announcement on 5 August 2026 said the booth exists so attendees can play while the cross-play test is live for everyone else. It is a playable demo on show hardware. It is not a unique SKU, not a founders key, and not the retail launch.
If you are not going to Seattle, you still play OBT at home on Steam, Xbox, Xbox PC, or PlayStation 5. If you are going, read this page so you do not treat a convention build as patch notes. The Updates Hub is the calendar. Getting Started is still the first-hour script.
What the booth is for
Producer Kim Myung Su framed two jobs in the same breath: Prime OBT is the final cross-play check between PC and consoles; PAX West is how they introduce the arcade 5v5 to a North American floor. You should expect:
- A playable slice of the 5v5 ruleset with AI keepers, one Agent per character, and whatever roster that build contains.
- Show hardware and show headphones. Your Steam nickname from home does not automatically follow you onto a kiosk.
- A line. PAX floors do not care that you pre-registered on freestylefootball2.com.
You should not expect:
- A Deluxe edition for sale at the booth as if launch had happened.
- Guaranteed Lena or QRI on every station. Builds drift.
- Wishlist Riyal handed to you in a tote bag. Mailbox cosmetics still wait for official launch, as wishlist rewards explains.
How it lines up with Prime OBT hours
Online OBT (published windows):
- PDT: 4 September 2026, 04:00 through 7 September 2026, 18:00
- EDT: 4 September 2026, 07:00 through 7 September 2026, 21:00
- CEST: 4 September 2026, 13:00 through 8 September 2026, 03:00
PAX West doors are a different clock. You can play the booth on Saturday afternoon and still miss the Sunday evening PDT close if you never downloaded the client. Pre-download opened 2 September 2026. Delete leftover demo builds; JOYCITY recommended a clean download. Platforms and Index: 400 login notes live on Prime OBT and system requirements.
Cross-play is the actual test. A Steam Agent, an Xbox Agent, and a PS5 Agent should be able to share a lobby. The booth will not prove that as clearly as your Discord five at home. Use PAX to feel the ball. Use OBT to feel the ping.
What to try on the floor if the line is short
If you get a station, do not spend it in the clothing store. Run this loop:
- Finish or skip to the first live match depending on how the kiosk is set.
- Pick after the list appears. No duplicates. If Lena is there, read How to Defend in your head before you first-pick her as a striker.
- Play one half as a defender even if you came for Queen Swift.
- Notice the pitch. Hamburg is the OBT city court called out with Lena; the booth might load Route 66, New York, or something else. Maps is the atlas for when you get home.
KARDI’s in-game tracks, including Wolf Park, are scheduled to debut in the OBT client. A show floor may or may not have that mix in the headphones. Do not write a soundtrack review from a trailer playing on a nearby TV. The listen list is the KARDI soundtrack page.
After you leave Seattle
Wishlist Steam, follow PlayStation, follow Xbox so combined milestones still count. Link Twitch in the lobby QR menu if you want watch-time Riyal — that is Twitch Drops, a different mailbox. SKUs (Basic, Premium, Deluxe, Limited Club, Game Pass Day One) stay on editions. Roster notes stay on the Players Hub. Match rules stay on How to Play.
Official Discord, X, and the support FAQ (Index: 400) are collected on the Links Hub. If a booth attendant quotes a launch day, smile and check the official site later. This wiki will not invent a street date the publisher has not locked.
The June demo recap remains useful for New York and Lounge recruitment. PAX does not replace it. Prime OBT does not replace it. A convention screenshot of a jumbotron GOAL is still not a patch note.
A floor checklist
Bring a charged phone for the official Discord. Know your timezone conversion before you fly. Play the booth for feel. Play OBT at home for cross-play. Do not buy a third-party “PAX founders pack.” When you get back, write down which pitch loaded and which characters were in the list, then come back to Lena, QRI, and How to Score with that list — not with a rumor from the line.
